Geeta Maker-Clark, MD - “MEDICINE FOR ALL PEOPLE: Science and Ancient Wisdom for Revolutionary Healing - Ep. 3151
In mainstream health care, the word medicine connotes fear, dependence and anxiety. But the most healing medicines are natural wellsprings of energy and life force - freely available to all. Medicine has long been associated with pills, sickness, and costly interventions, when in fact the most sustaining medicines are those that bring us vitality in our daily lives: nourishing food, joyful movement, and meaningful connection.
In Medicine For All People, visionary whole-health physician, culinary medicine expert, and health equity thought leader Dr. Geeta Maker-Clark presents a new path of truly integrative medicine, drawing on timeless avenues for healing. These ancient medicines-long woven into ancestral and Indigenous cultures around the globe-better connect us to the Earth, the land we live on, and our families and communities. Reawakening our spirits, minds, and bodies to nature, food, plants, dance, community, service, trust, play and gratitude, we can decolonize from the dominating systems that have long taught us that we’re not in control of our own health and well being.
Drawing from her years of working and living in diverse communities and from an extensive body of scientific research, Dr. Geeta Maker-Clark reminds us of the medicines we most need right now-so we can transform froma culture of stress and sickness to one of health and belonging.
Medicine For All People offers a path to a blooming and vibrant future through the accessible and deeply rooted wisdom of our collective past.
